Play-Thinks
About Play-Thinks
We are a not-for-profit organization solely devoted to promoting our Play-Thinks programs among elementary and middle school students in order to enhance their academic skills. Through design, arts & crafts, and literature we introduce intellect and deep thinking in the form of games, puzzles, riddles, exhibits, and projects.
This exciting educational experience not only teaches students to have fun while learning, but also helps them succeed in school by stimulating their creative and analytical skills, critical thinking and imagination.
Play-Thinks programs are low-cost fee-based classes. Our programs distinguish schools by offering an intellectual and imaginative alternative to daycare.
We have an experienced and dedicated administration that handles all registration and scheduling. We are fully insured, organized and dependable and will tailor our program to meet each individual school’s requests. All of our instructors are fingerprinted, TB-tested and certified instructors with years of experience.
We devised a slightly unorthodox method of instruction simply because it has proven to be the most effective. By exciting the students about what they’re learning, they unknowingly become far more receptive to the learning process! Our lessons also stress the great importance of school academics—Play-Thinks will inspire students to tackle the unknowable!
Classroom Activity
In our enrichment programs, Play-Thinks will ideally transfer students to a state of mind where pure play and problem solving coexist.
Classroom activities, which combine entertainment and brain teasing, expand on that idea and apply it to concepts of art projects. Through activity books, puzzles, projects, crafts and enthusiastic lessons, we give students all of the skills they’ll need to become Play-Thinks All-Stars!
Project time follows each detailed lesson, so students can put what they’ve learned into practical application. Every week, they’ll have the opportunities to win cool prizes such as certificates, posters, and trophies.
Each student also receives our own set of activity books for varying levels of Play-Thinks programming. The activity books are full of games and puzzles so students can enhance their creative spark while having fun!
Our after-school programs generally meet 1 hour each week for 6-10 weeks. Lunch-time programs vary based on available time.
Teaching Method
Lesson time is 15-25 minutes. Each lesson is transmitted dynamically to the students through a variety of energetic detail and description, enabling them to be more inventive, creative, and interactive. Our teaching methods are age and level sensitive so Kindergarten through Middle School age children will excel in our class.!
Child psychologists have long known that children learn through games and play; now it is time to extend that model to the classroom! The projects we entail not only spark the interest of students, but also get them excited and involved with the lessons and outcomes of their work!
